Sciatica

Maybe you know this...

A pulling, burning or stabbing pain radiates from the lower back, across the buttocks, and down the leg.

Sometimes it feels like an electric shock. Sitting becomes uncomfortable, standing for long periods is tiring, and even walking can become a challenge. You might also experience tingling, numbness, or weakness in your leg.

Perhaps you've already tried physiotherapy, medication, or various treatments. It gets better for a short time – but the symptoms return.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

Symptoms

Sciatica symptoms can manifest in different ways. Patients often report:

  • Lower back pain

  • Radiating pain into the buttocks or leg

  • Burning, stinging or pulling pain

  • Tingling or numbness

  • Pain when sitting

  • Pain when getting up

  • Limited mobility

  • Feeling of weakness in the leg

  • Pain when walking

  • Symptoms that worsen with exertion

Possible medical diagnoses

Sciatica symptoms can be associated with, among other things, the following diagnoses:

  • Sciatica

  • Lumbosacral radiculopathy

  • Herniated disc

  • bulging disc

  • Piriformis syndrome

  • Spinal stenosis

  • Nerve root irritation

  • Degenerative changes of the lumbar spine

A medical diagnosis can provide important clues. However, it does not always fully explain why pain persists or why tingling, numbness, or radiating sensations continue to be felt despite treatment.

Therefore, what is crucial is not only the diagnosis, but also the question of how your nervous system is currently reacting to the irritation and why your body continues to maintain the symptoms.

My approach

Sciatica symptoms don't just affect the back or leg. They often indicate that the nervous system is in an irritated state.

In my experience, it's often not enough to just look at the structure – the intervertebral discs, muscles, or joints. It's also crucial how your body processes the pain and whether the natural regulatory process can function freely again.

Therefore, with the 5XPain™ method, I not only look at the location of the pain, but also at the interplay of the nervous system, regulation, and the individual reaction patterns of your body.

The aim of the treatment is to release blockages, calm the irritation and support the body in returning to a regulated state.

Many patients report experiencing reduced pain, warmth, tingling, increased mobility, or a lighter feeling in their leg during treatment.

The body doesn't heal because the pain disappears. The pain disappears when the body is able to regulate itself again.

What can change again

When sciatic symptoms subside, often much more than just the pain changes.

Many patients report that they are experiencing:

  • being able to sit for longer periods

  • getting up more easily

  • walking without pain

  • sleep better

  • bend over more freely

  • Climbing stairs is easier

  • Less radiating pain into the leg

  • gain more confidence in their back

  • experience everyday life in a more relaxed way again

Because often it's not just the pain that's burdensome – but the uncertainty of which movement might trigger it again next.
